Summer pictures

What a blessing Australia has been to us.
Where I thought it was going to be a lonely summer, instead we are having a large amount of Aussies drop by. One young lady has even come to stay for a month.
They are a polite and enjoyable group of fun people who thing we are doing a great job.
Several groups have been kind enough to compliments us, to say that we where the best part of their trip so far.

Well summer is upon us and the children had a week break with no studying, classes getting up late and going to bed late with movies all the time. We played cards, dodge ball, hide and seek, tag, flew kites, fished, played tether ball, and everything in between.

The last days of their time off got to drag on a bit and they got a little board. So they where happy to be back in their studies this last Monday.
About half of our children will be trying to skip a grade or two so getting back to studies has been pretty important for them.

Chi has been an amazing child. He started school the latest and is making up as much as he can. He studies very hard he has also started to learn English and guitar. This summer Chi will try and skip from the 5th grade to 7th. He should be in 9th.
We are having him study in the 7th grade books and will have him review 5th and 6th to make sure he has not missed anything. If he can pass some test we will move him up.
Chi might have to give up the guitar and English to make this happen but so far he is doing well.
If he keeps on course he should get out of high school before he has children himself. J

We have 5 children that are learning the guitar this summer and 8 learning the piano. There are 4 of them still learning drums and a large group of children learning new traditional dances.
There is an Australian team coming to do a concert in November and the children and hoping to perform then.
It has been a good start for summer for us. There is a lot going on, the staff is happy, the children are enjoying it and Ream and I are satisfied with the fruit.

Kit
No, it is not the return of the dunce cap. I had to edit this picture for public viewing. While Joe remembers his cool head gear he for got his pants.
Lim gets a ride from Melor on last day of school and they finished all their testing.

Studying for next year Channee, Tong and Tate.
1st grade get some help from 4th graders.
Own also has to study hard if she want to skip some grades. She is in 4th and should be 7th.
Cooking class making pumpkin soup.
Piano class, keyboard is borrowed from church. Teachers are still in high and from New life church. From left is Nyng, Nune, Darow, Te-a. In back is Englime, teacher, Nerda, teacher, Chow and Wut on the right.
Guitar class is Lim not pictured, Tee on the left Chi teacher Hua and Whitney

Ream trims the grass. Tong Rachana and Nyng get unchoi for animals.

Weed rinses the grass off, Chow on the right. Te-a comes back with the pig food, more unchoi.
A nice rainbow but no rain. Ky plants some more unchoi.
We have shifted from a lot of verity in the garden to mostly animal food. The children also eat unchoi. This has reduced labor in the garden and shifted it more towards the animals. Which will makes some extra income this next year.
Dad left some money in his pants, Tong is happy to return it. While there was plenty of fermentation Melor is not pressing grapes for wine. He is helping Lim do his laundry while Lim has his cast on.
Chi hangs his cloths out to dry.
Ly and On enjoys a moment on the swings.
Chopping food for the chickens. We eat the last of the ducks this week.

Kyo, Chow, Tate and Rachana are out getting grass for the animals. Chow lets the goats back in from their play time in the fields.

Lim's surgery

Lim's Surgery went well. Handicap international had a surgeon from Switzerland that preformed the operation.
Lim had a club foot; kind of.
He fell as a child and it stunted the growth of the leg, then a cow stepped on that foot and broke it.
They being a really poor family just let the foot heal broken and created a lot of problems for him.
What was cool was we had a pair of crutches from when Ream had hurt her foot. We where going to give them to Lim to use but when we went to get them from Ream's mom they where broken. I think they used them for fire wood. So while I was picking Lim up we needed to get him another pair of crutches.
The Handicap place was close to the hospital so we stopped by.
They give out all the things a handicap person might need for free. Legs, arms, are all wheel chairs are all there to help the people.
I was blessed to see the workers so happily doing their jobs. They like what they do.
Anyway Lim's Dad was there getting his new leg. He had been in a moto accident awhile ago and did not fix it properly either. They could not fix his leg so they cut it off.
We had never met Lim's dad before, he is a small, happy man. He reminds me of a jockey. I think he might have barely made 4 feet tall.
I liked him as soon as I met him. I hope as our animal program grows to the point it needs and can support a full time worker that we might be able to hire him.
Lim's dad is on the left, white shirt. Lim is in the middle, black and red shirt. Lim's Dad has the right foot missing and Lim's left foot is the one hurt. If Lim's dad was bigger they could share a pair of shoes.
Lim's had his surgery and Lim on the right stayed at the hospital with him. Since they have the same name I teased them about making sure when it came time for the operation that they took the right Lim in to get fixed.
The doctors said they straightened the foot out about 90% and they wanted the last 10% to work it out by itself so it would end up in the right place.
The school has also been very helpful. Lim has important test coming up and they are making sure that even though he is missing school he does not miss the tests.

I am very happy with the way things went. When we received Lim at the orphanage I was happy that we where going to be able to help him and I am very happy that it was so easy to do.

Staff and Birthday

Mow Khoek Cook and Swine expert; Mow is one of Reams sisters. Mow has been with us since we opened and has been more than faithful. I love Mow's commitment and easily make most valuable employee. Mow is 32, you would not know it from the responsibility she exhibits.
Ky Khon is Ream's uncle on her fathers side. He helped us build, kind of. He cleaned up and looked after the tools. Ky can back to us last year when we really needed a gardener. He has been a good faithful employee who seems to love his job. Ky is 70 something and works pretty hard for his age. I am vary thankful to have his help when few others would not.

Lim is 22 and engaged to be married next year, she has been quiet the blessing when we really needed a competent helper she made all the difference. We had Own, they where almost the same but Own went off to school.
Sadal is 18 and use to teach English at a grade school. It is nice that I can communicate with other people a little more and Ream does not have to be there all the time.
Joe my office assistant is turning 2 he is really a lot of fun right now. He talks gibberish all the time and generally happy. He really tries hard to get us to understand him and when we do not it frustrates him. I think it is a good try hard personality.
Melor turned 14, Lim turned 14, Chow turned 12, Nyng turned 9 and Weed turned 6 this quarter.
So the girls got dressed up.

Nyng had a guest come, the birthday boys invited one of their friends but they didn't show up.
We ate cake and they got a small gift and some money.

It looks like Sam could be Weeds little brother I think they look like twins.
We played games; this time we race from one end of the yard to the other carrying a ball. Odd man means mom has to play. I can't because I have to take the pictures :)

Mom and Melor where in the lead.

Own and Jon

Hua and Darow tried to hard and could never make it across the finish line.
Chi and Channee they got really close but not close enough, they dropped the ball only feet away and had to start over.
Rachana and Wut made it!
Kyo and Nune had points for style but dropped it shortly after the picture.
So that was hard right? Well the winners had to go again with two balls.

Ly and Nyng, Tate and Te-a, Chow and Yong, Tong and Melor

They where absolutely so cute little brother and sister Ly and Nyng took their time and came in first second was Chow and Yong.

So last race this time with a big water balloon.
Nyng and Ly did not make it that far.
Chow and Yong made it all the way. Chow had to stop and laugh a lot but Yong was quite serious and wanted to win which they did.
We also did a game I video taped but sorry no pictures. We put water balloons on the rafters up stairs attached to strings. There where teams of three and the one team member had to sit under another teams balloon. The 2 people left on the team would try with only one hand for each person to pull the string the fastest to break the balloon ever the other team members head.
There where a couple of games and the team with the most dry people on it won. It was a good for team work and a lot of fun to watch.
The unfortunately it was the first game we played after the girls had gotten all their make up put on. Since the littler children could not really compete the teams used them as the people to get wet.
The video is quite fun to watch and one day I will get copy out.
Oh also we hid Frisbees with a prize like an Easter egg. They would rush out the door all over the yard to find the hidden Frisbees.

We had a lot of fun this birthday. I did not even turn the computer on the last 2 days which has been quite relaxing.

We it would not be much of a blog with out the bug update.
Are geckos are hatching, 5 or 6 so far. This was a cricket we caught on the mountain the other day.
